Research Support Philosophy
The SAVF funds research projects
that will benefit the health of animals and is not detrimental to animals.
For this purpose, the SAVF will only consider funding a project that has
been approved by a recognised institution's Ethics and Research Committee.
Furthermore, the trustees of the SAVF also evaluate each study based on
relevance, scientific soundness and humane treatment.
Once a study is completed, the results of the research project is published
in the Journal of the South African Veterinary Association or appropriate SA
journal as well as presented at a South African Veterinary Association
congress or other appropriate SA congress.
